Academy award winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was recently found dead from an apparent drug overdose.
The 46-year-old actor's body was reportedly discovered by his personal assistant in the bathroom of his New York apartment with a needle in his arm after injecting heroin, the Mirror reported.
Hoffman's family have issued a statement saying that they are devastated by the loss of the 'Capote' star and appreciate the outpouring of love and support they have received.
They added that this is a tragic and sudden loss and they requested people to give them some privacy to grieve.
Sources have revealed that the New York police department has opened a "DOA" ("Dead on arrival") investigation and is investigating a possible drug overdose.
