Taking political potshots at the National Conference (NC) and the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday accused both of practicing dynastic politics in Jammu and Kashmir, adding that they work only for their families.

"Recently, I visited Srinagar, where the people complained that the government constructs roads and releases funds for the Jammu region only. I feel this is because corruption is in their DNA. Whether they are in power or not, they work for their family only," Prime Minister Modi said, while addressing a rally here.

The Prime Minister also criticised the Congress for practicing opportunistic politics, accusing the grand old party of not allowing the formation of strong state governments.

"The Congress plays opportunistic politics and doesn't allow anyone to form a strong government. If the people of Jammu understand the dirty politics of Congress, the state as a whole can do well. The 22 seats in Jammu have the potential to lead the state," he said.

Pointing about the vast scope of tourism potential available in Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Modi also blamed the successive state governments for its decline.

"There is a vast scope of tourism in Jammu region. Is Dal Lake the only place in Jammu and Kashmir? Some people have spoiled the tourism environment in Srinagar. For last 30 years, the region has seen downfall in tourism," he said.

"Tourism provides employment to every class of people. If the BJP forms the state government, we will rebrand Jammu and Kashmir tourism," the Prime Minister added.

The fifth and the final phase of polling in Jammu and Kashmir will be held on December 20. The first four phase of five-phased polling has witnessed an unprecedented voter turnout. The results will be declared on December 23.
