Senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel on Wednesday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of insulting India's first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for political gains.
"On Tuesday, Prime Minister Modi said that the Congress leaders lacked vision during the partition. It is sad that now he is beginning to insult Sardar Patel for his political gains. First Pandit ji and now Sardar."
Prime Minister on Tuesday had reportedly said that Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara, one of the holiest Sikh shrines, went to Pakistan because of the lack of vision of the then Congress leaders.
The campaigning would come to an end on Wednesday in Rajasthan, where the single-phase Assembly will be held on December 7 for 200 seats. The counting of votes will take place on December 11.
