Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tanzania President Jakaya Kikwete held delegation level talks in the national capital on Friday.
Ministry of External Affairs official spokesperson Vikas Swarup shared the information via twitter.
"An Indian Ocean bond. PM @narendramodi receives President Jakaya Kikwete of Tanzania in Delhi for delegn level talks," he posted.
Earlier in the day, President Kikwete was accorded a ceremonial welcome at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. At the ceremony, President Kikwete met Prime Minister Modi and President Pranab Mukherjee as the national anthems of both countries were played.
During his trip, President Kikwete will also hold talks with Vice President Mohammad Ansari and senior government officials.
This is his second visit to India in 10 years of his leadership.
