Police arrested three Maoists with arms and ammunition in Palamu District of Jharkhand.
Acting on a tip-off, a special police team conducted search operation and arrested three members of new ultra outfit 'Sashastra People's Morcha' (SPM) while two others escaped.
Superintendent of Police, Y. S. Ramesh, said they were involved in setting ablaze three machines of a private firm, which were engaged in implementing social forestry project.
"We had information that five people are in the group. We have arrested three of them. We are yet to nab the other two. We have recovered four country made weapons and also country-made type tear gas weapon," Ramesh said.
