Protesters on Sunday torched a vehicle in Ahmadabad city over the death of Dalit activist Bhanubhai Vankar, who self-immolated himself over the Gujarat government's alleged failure to regularise land entitled to labourers.
Vankar self-immolated himself on February 15 in Patan, and succumbed to his injuries on February 16.
Vankar had been seeking physical possession of land that was allotted to Dalit families by the state government.
He had last month written a letter to Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, warning him of taking the step of self-immolation if the families were not allotted the land.
