Mohammad Aman death is the latest in a string of targeted killings against government officials and local leaders in the war-torn country, a provincial official said.

The head of provincial health department Sahd Mukhtar said that Aman succumbed to his wounds, sustained by handgun shoots near his residence in the provincial capital Kunduz city earlier in the day.

Aman was traveling to office at around 08:15 a.m. (local time) when two gunmen riding a motorcycle opened fire on him.
