Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, who met the slum dwellers in South Delhi's Rangpuri Pahari here on Thursday, said that his party would fight for the rights of the poor.
"The Congress will fight for the rights of the poor. The poor are being thrown out of their houses; whatever is happening here is wrong," he told the media after meeting the slum dwellers.
The slum dwellers chanted slogans in support of the Congress vice-president as he interacted with some of them.
The Congress vice-president's visit to the Rangpuri Pahari slum comes at a time when Delhi is gearing up for the assembly polls.
