Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Rajnath Singh on Friday congratulated party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi over the party's performance in Lok Sabha elections.
"Congratulated Shri @narendramodi over the phone on BJP's superb performance in the Lok Sabha elections. Trends indicate it is a landslide," Singh tweeted.
he BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) appears to be heading for landslide win in the 2014 general elections, having acquired a lead in 298 to 321 seats, while the Congress is gradually slipping towards its worst ever poll defeat, having a lead in 66 to 74 seats.
Of the 542 seats for which leads are available, the BJP is ahead in 271 to 320 seats (+ 182), while the Congress is leading in 51 to 67 seats (-155 to -167).
