The Rajya Sabha has been adjourned till noon after the opposition parties disrupted the proceedings during External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj's statement on the Lalit Modi controversy.
Rubbishing all allegations against her, she said that she never favoured former IPL chief Lalit Modi.
"I did no wrong as Foreign Minister..... I have been trying to clarify for the last seven days...I never made request to UK on behalf of Lalit Modi," she said.
The government will make a fresh bid to end the two-week long deadlock in Parliament with an all-party meeting today.
Almost half of the Monsoon Session of Parliament has been washed out due to disruptions as opposition parties led by Congress are not allowing discussions while demanding resignations of Sushma Swaraj, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan over the Lalit Modi controversy and Vyapam scam.
