South Africa batsman Quinton de Kock has reportedly revealed his simple recipe for success after he bagged the man-of-the-series award in the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo.

De Kock, who was the leading run-scorer of the series, with 185 runs at an average of 61.66, said that he is not one for planning, and added that there are a few guys in the team that like to sit down and watch videos of the opposition. He said that he likes to hit a few balls in the nets and take it from there on the day.

The 21-year-old equalled the world record for the fastest player to score 1,000 ODI runs during the series and admits that he is not fazed by the accolades and records, Sport24 reported.

De Kock said that the milestones and records he has broken do not interest him. He added that it is more something for the fans to keep them interested.

The batsman said that some of the players do enjoy stats but he is 'very chilled about it'.

Stand-in captain Faf du Plessis is pleased with the squad's performance throughout the series and believes that the momentum gained from the whitewash would be a good boost ahead of the tri-series starting in Harare next week.

Du Plessis said that he thinks South Africa covered their bases pretty well; adding that the bowlers were solid throughout the series and so was their batting. He said that there weren't any blow-ups.

Du Plessis said that luckily they are getting Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel back and they are coming up against strong opposition in the form of Australia. He also said that when one plays a team like that, one has to be on top of their game.
