A day after Pakistan announced to host a cricket series with India in UAE, Pakistan High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit believes that resumption of cricketing ties between the two nations will improve the bilateral relations.
The Pakistan high Commissioner said that there are some intangible things whose benefits might not appear immediately, but would be helpful in the long run, the Express Tribune reported.
Earlier in March, Basit had said that Pakistan was working "very hard" to resume bilateral cricketing ties with India.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shahryar Khan and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Jagmohan Dalmiya met recently and agreed on a series that will likely schedule three Tests, five one-dayers and two T20 matches in December.
The last time the two nations played was in 2012-13 when Pakistan visited India for a three-match One Day International (ODI) and two-match Twenty20 series.
