Rooney admits 18-year-old Klay may follow in dad's footsteps

England football team captain Wayne Rooney, who celebrated winning his 100th cap for the country in Saturday's victory over Slovenia, has tipped his young son Klay to follow in his footsteps.

The Manchester United star took his boys Kai, five, and 18-month-old Klay onto the Wembley pitch ahead of England's Euro 2016 qualifier against Slovenia.

Rooney, who led Roy Hodgson's men to a 3-1 victory after scoring the equaliser from the penalty spot, earlier revealed how Klay was a natural with the ball at his little feet, The Mirror reported.

The striker said that his youngest lad, since the first day he could walk, has been wanting a ball, adding that his son kicks a ball around everywhere he goes.

The United skipper said that honestly, he always thought one has to work at it but obviously he has now seen his youngest lad and from the minute he was born he wanted the ball.

Rooney said that it's incredible to watch his son, adding that Klay is just over one and a half and without any teaching his technique was unbelievable.

Rooney said that then he started thinking that 'his son must be born with something'. He added that then it's obviously how one uses it, how one works on it when they get older.

Before that he claimed that he would have said it was something one works on and pick up and learn.

Rooney also admitted that he was exactly the same as a child, adding that his parents have told him that's all he wanted to do and so his son must take after him in that way.
