With rumours of Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney leaving for Chelsea, and new manager David Moyes suggesting the striker is suffering from an injured shoulder, the England striker has taken a subtle dig at the manager on Facebook and suggested that he is fine.
According to the Mirror, Chelsea transfer target Rooney was left out of the champions' squad to play in Rio Ferdinand's testimonial against Sevilla on Friday night, despite making clear his desire to take part in the tribute to his team-mate.
Referring to being called up for England's friendly next Wednesday night against Scotland even though his club boss said he simply is not fit enough to play competitive games at the moment, the 27-year-old wrote with more than a hint of sarcasm, that he appreciated the support and faith of his international manager Roy Hodgson for allowing him to play, the report said.
Rooney thanked Roy Hodgson for selecting him and showing faith and support, adding that he could not wait to join up with the England squad and hopefully play in a competitive match, which suggested strongly that Rooney believes he should be playing for United, the report added.
