The super luxury Train "Royal Rajasthan on Wheels" (RROW) rolled on its first commercial tour for this year to Rajasthan and other destinations, especially for Khajuraho, Varanasi and Agra from Safdarjung Railway station here yesterday.
In the first trip, 26 tourist passengers are traveling in this super luxurious train.
Royal Rajasthan on Wheels is still another milestone inscribed by Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation in the arena of Luxury Rail Journeys in the tourism market of India. Sources said following the trendsetter epoch of the Place on Wheels-this train has also established its brand image in the global travel market in a record time.
It is not worthy that Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. (RTDC) and Indian Railways (in Joint venture), encouraged with grand success of Palace on Wheels has introduce a new super luxury train Royal Rajasthan on Wheels since 2008-2009.
The general manager of RTDC New Delhi, Parmod Sharma, informed that in 87 trips since 2008-2009, a total 3286 tourists have made journey in this royal train. An amount of Rs. 48 crore 82 Lakhs has earned till now.
He informed that this new train would offer more luxuries and facilities to the passengers. Where as Palace on Wheels (POW) starts its journey on every Wednesday between the months of September to April. The New super luxury train (RROW) is scheduled to run on every Sunday between the months of October to April from Delhi.
This luxury train package covers the most exotic destinations starting from Safdarjung Railway Station on Sunday covering Jodhpur-Udaipur-Chittorgarh-Sawai Madhopur-Jaipur-Khajuraho-Varanasi-Agra and back on Safdarjung Railway Station, New Delhi.
GM of Royal Rajasthan on Wheels, Surendra Singh Chaudhri, said that this luxury train has 22 State of Art coaches comprising of 1 Super deluxe coach (2 cabins), 13 deluxe coach (containing 3 cabins each), 2 Restro Bars (40 covers each), 1 Kitchen, 2 Staff cum Store Car and 2 Power cars. The Total capacity of the train is 82 pax.
The tariff of this luxury train experience is for Super Deluxe Suite USD 1600 per night, Deluxe USD 590 per person per night twin sharing and Deluxe USD 825 per person per night on single occupancy basis in the cabin.
He informed that there are 2 dining cars in Royal Rajasthan on Wheels which are named 'Swarn Mahal' and 'Sheesh Mahal'. Whereas Swarn Mahal is patterned on brass and gold theme, the Sheesh Mahal restaurant features spectacular floor lamps and crystal pelmets. The 14 luxury cabins housed within the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels have been named after some erstwhile royal palace of Rajasthan.
Categorized into Deluxe and Super Deluxe saloons, these cabins come equipped with amenities such as Wi-Fi internet, Satellite TV, Channel music system and Individual temperature control. Few cabin names are as follows: Hawa Mahal, Padmini Mahal, Kishori Mahal, Phool Mahal and Super Deluxe Coach 'Taj Mahal'. A souvenir coach offers various handcrafter products and apparels which include beer mug, embossed leather jewelry product, cruet set, leather photo frame and various other accessories.
The facility on board this exotic train journey includes spa, gymnasium, internet facility and satellite TV, which makes the traveler feel privileged.
The Royal Rajasthan on Wheels was launched on January 2009 in the most critical circumstances followed by Mumbai terror attack and the global melt down.
The sheer products strength and bench mark service provided by highly experienced team of Royal Rajasthan on Wheels made it possible to turn this venture in to profit making luxury tourism product within 3 years, whereas in the normal circumstances and favorable market conditions, it takes 4-5 years to achieve the break-even in the business for any up market tourism project. This speaks for the brand image of this luxury train package by itself.
