Russell Crowe has revealed that he is a map geek, while launching a cartography exhibition in Canberra.
The 'Gladiator' star, who launched the 'Mapping Our World: Terra Incognita to Australia' at the National Library of Australia, told the cartography fans present at the event that he loves reading maps and planning adventures, News.com.au reported.
Crowe said that as a child he used to get thrilled with looking at the atlas in the school library and finding his hometown and place in the world.
The 49-year-old actor said that it was timely to consider in the age of Google Maps, "how people have got here and how far they have come".
Crowe insisted that he doesn't own a GPS and prefers his trusty Gregory's street directory, as it feels like someone is blabbering while driving.
He added that he has had some of those experiences where he bumped into a brick wall by following the GPS.
