Russia Today anchor, Sara Firth has resigned from the network over spreading 'biased' news for President Vladimir Putin.

Firth alleged that anchors were asked to obscure the truth, and work for Putin. She expressed herself on her Twitter account, Huffington Post reported.

Her tweet read - I resigned from RT today. I have huge respect for many in the team, but I'm for the truth.

She clarified the reason for resigning in another tweet, which read - We do work for Putin. We are asked on a daily basis if not to totally ignore then to obscure the truth.

Firth revealed that after the Malaysian Airlines story came out she went to collect the facts, but she was asked to 'burn' the facts and not tell the truth otherwise she would have to leave the organization, report said.

She then decided to resign, adding that RT is not a nice organization.

Earlier, another anchor Liz Wahl also publicly criticized the network. Wahl quit while on air, stating that she could not support a network that whitewashes the actions of Putin, report added.
