Hollywood actor Ryan Phillippe is hitting back with a lawsuit at his ex-girlfriend supermodel Elsie Hewitt who claimed that he assaulted her by throwing her down a flight of stairs.
He said, "Her motivation is simple- an unjustified attempt to extort money from Phillippe, and to gain publicity for herself and her modelling career," PEOPLE reported.
He insists that he "was raised by women in a household where women's rights, feminism, and advocacy were very much at the forefront, and he is sickened to be falsely accused of domestic violence".
On Wednesday, he tweeted saying that he hasn't dated for a year.
Hewitt filed a civil lawsuit in September against Ryan Phillippe for allegedly kicking, punching and throwing her down the stairs after an argument on July 4.
The model claims she suffered chest pain, abrasions and severe bruising and demands $1 million as remuneration.
In response to this, Ryan Phillippe filed his lawsuit on November 17.
