Samajwadi Party is least interested in development: BJP

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday accused the Samajwadi Party-led Uttar Pradesh Government of failing to correctly implement the Bundelkhand package given by the Central Government, and said the state government was least interested in development.

"The Uttar Pradesh Government needs to answer a straight question raised by Narendra Modi. When the Bundelkhand package has been correctly implemented by the Madhya Pradesh Government, why has the U.P. Government failed? It is because the state government is not at all interested in development," BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said.

"It is a communal party, dynastic politics is their mainstay, and therefore, those who are involved and have perpetuated dynastic politics along with the Congress, have no standing in the society to raise fingers at BJP," he added.

Earlier on Friday, Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Naresh Agarwal asked Modi whether he is even aware of the Bundelkhand package given by the Centre.

"Does Modi even know what package Central government has given to Bundelkhand?" he questioned.

Modi took a jibe at the Samajwadi Party at his rally in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, on Friday, and accused the ruling state government of looting its people.

"These people are experts at looting. Ram Manohar Lohia (Samajwadi Party's ideologue) would be ashamed of the Samajwadi Party's deeds," Modi said.

"The Congress's arrogance, the Samajwadi Party's dynastic politics and the BSP's personality cult can't fulfill the people's aspirations. ... The trinity of SABKA (SA: Samajwadi Party, B: Bahujan Samaj Party, KA: Congress) has destroyed Uttar Pradesh," Modi added while persuading voters to vote for the BJP in the next election.

BJP President Rajnath Singh and senior party member Uma Bharti were also present at the party's election campaign rally in Jhansi on Friday.
