In one of the largest private initiatives to help those affected by the Jammu and Kashmir floods and their loved ones, 55100 EmergencyAlerts, India's largest privately operated 24x7 emergency hotline, together with Airtel, has stepped up to connect those affected with their family and friends.
Airtel customers anywhere in India can search for their family members and friends in J-K. All they have to do is send an sms with the text SEARCH J-K mobile number to toll free number 55100. This is a completely free service.
In addition, people in J-K can use toll free number 55100 EmergencyAlerts to send unlimited EMERGENCY or SAFE alerts to their loved ones. Alerts automatically include their location information.
The service will work even if an Airtel customer has no balance in their mobile account.
