Reiterating his opposition to separate townships for the Kashmiri Pandits, Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik on Saturday said that such a move would build a wall of hatred.
"A separate town will build a wall of hatred. We don't want to leave behind such a legacy for our children," Malik told ANI.
"We don't want a separate colony (for Kashmiri Pandits), want to live together with Muslims; this is the voice of Sikhs, Christians here," he added.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed had earlier today asserted that Kashmiri Pandits are a part of collective culture of the state and his government would ensure that the conditions are conducive for their return.
Earlier on Thursday, Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs official spokesperson Tasneem Aslam had stated that creation of special townships for Kashmiri Pandits in Jammu and Kashmir would violate the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.
Last month, separatists had called for a shutdown across the Valley over the issue of creation of special townships aimed at resettlement of Kashmiri Pandits.
