The 33-year-old claimed a 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 win to progress to the next round, the BBC reports.
The 21-time Grand Slam champion will next face Ukrainian Elina Svitolina, who claimed 6-4, 2-6, 6-0 victory over Lucie Safarova, for the semi-finals berth.
