Sharad Yadav appeals to UPSC to take back admit cards

Janata Dal (United) Party (JDP) leader Sharad Yadav on Saturday expressed his anger and disappointment with regard to the UPSC's act of issuing online admit cards to their candidates.

Yadav told ANI, "For Indian languages there was only single window open till now. The name of the present chairman of UPSC and other members should be announced. Earlier more than half of the candidates used to come from all other languages, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and even Hindi. But now they have structured such a thing that the future of all these students, whose count is in lakh, seems to be in dark."

"They are deteriorating the whole exam patter as the whole structure is changed without even consulting the students. As a result, all those candidates whose future is in danger now, who will take responsibility?

The admit cards that have been issued online must be taken back at once, till the report of committee comes. May be then the concerned students will be satisfied considering that the Parliament and Committee people are thinking seriously about the issue.

These students are our future. Is it right to humiliate and frustrate them with restrictions like these? It is time for them to study and they are sitting on roads.

I would like to request the UPSC once again to take back the online admit cards with immediate effect," he added.

Students have been protesting against the exam, saying that the questions asked in language comprehension skills are asked in English and no Hindi translations are provided. They want this to be changed.

The UGC issued admit cards yesterday, which further fueled the anger of the candidates who are already protesting against changes made in the examination pattern.
