Shiv Sena MLA Gulabrao Patil was on Thursday arrested in connection with a case of alleged forgery.

Patil, who had surrendered before a local court in Jalgaon, was also sent to one-day police custody.

He surrendered with regard to a matter of wrongfully transferring a school land into his name by forging signatures.

It is reported that the school is located in Dharnagaon Taluka of Jalaon district.

The Shiv Sena legislator was not having good relations with Maharashtra's former revenue minister Eknath Khadse and had said that he would raise the issue of alleged corruption of Khadse in the coming monsoon session of Maharashtra Assembly.

In political circle, it is being said that this arrest may fuel the unrest between Shiv Sena and BJP in Maharashtra.
