Three suspected assailants of the Sholakia Eidgah blast that led to the death of four people in Bangladesh on Thursday, were found in possession of machetes, or large hatchet-like knives, and a pistol.

"A machete and a modern pistol was found in their possession," Abu Sayem, Additional Superintendent of Police (Kishoreganj) police, reports the Daily Star.

The attackers were held at the spot and are now being interrogated in police custody. Their identities have not been revealed.

One of the suspected assailants, who was killed in the blast, is said to have had a pocket in his trousers that could carry and hide a machete.

The Islamic State and al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent claimed responsibility of these murders.

Victims were also hacked to death using sharp weapons in the recent Holey Artisan Bakery attack that killed 20 of the hostages, including foreigners.

Responsibility for today's attack at Sholakia is yet to be claimed by any terrorist or militant group.
