Australian pace bowler Peter Siddle has said that his side is 'better placed' to win the winter Ashes than it was during the summer series in England.

According to News.com.au, the Victorian bowler, who took 17 wickets in the first leg of the home-and-away series, admitted that the 3-0 drubbing sprang from the fact that many of his teammates were overwhelmed during the series, as it was their first time and they were in awe of an Ashes series.

However, Siddle insisted that the same players are now aware that they need to put in a lot of hard work to win any Ashes series and maintain that pressure throughout five Tests, adding that he believes that many of the players' performances through the summer series and since then have shown that fact.

Siddle further said that Steve Smith making a comeback in Test cricket, Shane Watson having a successful end of the England tour and Chris Rogers coming back to the squad and leading by example are some of the massive positives that had emerged from the summer Ashes series.
