Sindh says big no to CPEC, torture through JSMM-led strike

Leaders and activists of the Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz (JSSM) have claimed success for their province-wide strike against the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects and state-sponsored torture of secular Sindhi nationalist activists.

In a statement issued here, JSSM spokesman Shah Nawaz Bhutto said Monday's strike call had resulted in all the public businesses remaining closed.

Bhutto said efforts by security personnel to convince citizens to prevent the JSMM-led strike from being a success went unheard, and claimed that this was a "referendum of Sindh against the decades-long occupation, exploitation and subjugation."

The JSMM chairman thanked all Sindhis for their response to the call of the strike against the CPEC despite all the brutal crackdown, brutalities and harassment tactics.

In a statement, he said "The Sindhi nation has unanimously rejected the CPEC and the slavery of Punjab. It has stood firm and courageous against the monstrous Pakistani forces, their harassment tactics, abductions, torture, flag marches, propaganda in these moments of fear, danger and evil ..."

He further stated "Sindhis as a nation have proved that nations can never be defeated by use of force and torture until they don't submit to their will."

In his statement he further said "I have been informed through social media that hundreds of secular nationalist activists have been abducted, including my family members, but I consider all the hundreds of those who have stood against the tyranny of Punjabi Pan-Islamic Fascism and expressed their free will against slavery and occupation of my motherland Sindh are my family members."

He appealed to the international community, United Nations, USA, EU, Germany, England, France, Russia, India, Israel and all the civilized nations of the world to take serious notice of Sindh's rejection of the CPEC.

He said he saw the CPEC as an act of Chinese military-strategic aggression over the Indian Ocean and existential threat to the historic secular natural Sindhi, Baloch, Pashtun, Gilgit-Baltistan, Uyghur nations.
