South African captain Graeme Smith has said his team is hoping for conditions at Port Elizabeth that will provide them 'good cricket' in the second Test against Australia, starting on Thursday.

Port Elizabeth is also known as the 'Friendly City' and Smith is also looking forward to the usual jovial support from the fans.

According to Sport24, Smith said that it is important for them to move on from the devastating result brought about by the unforeseen conditions at Centurion Park and adapt to the conditions at St.George's Park as quickly as possible, adding that they would be happy if they get a good Test wicket.

The captain further said the quick turnaround in matches would benefit his squad, who have once again had a slow start to a series, adding that it is important to have the ability to respond and to know how to respond, in which case experience plays a big role.

Smith also said that his players have a lot of reference points in terms of confidence and performances to fall back on, adding that he is hoping that the first hit-out will allow them to get to their best as they have lacked a little bit of real competitive cricket coming into the series.
