Heavy rains and water overflowing above the danger level at Railway Bridges in Chennai-Gudur section has impacted the movement of normal train services following which the South Central Railway has cancelled 12 trains and assured full refunds of fare for the same.
"Due to unforeseen circumstances such as breach or flood, the ticket is surrendered within three days excluding the scheduled day of departure of the train full refunds of fare shall be granted," tweeted South Central Railway (SCR).
The SCR has set up the following Help Line Numbers at various major stations to provide information to the passengers and minimise inconvenience.

The unprecedented floods have led to the cancellation of 12 trains. The SCR have listed the cancelled trains and requested the passengers to check the schedules of their trains traversing through Chennai before undertaking journey to avoid inconvenience.
The following trains have been cancelled:-

Train No. 12604 Hyderabad- Chennai Central Express
Train No. 12760 Hyderabad- Chennai Central Charminar Express
Train No. 17652 Kacheguda- Chennai Egmore Express
Train No. 16031 Chennai Central - Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Andaman Express
Train No. 12621 Chennai Central - New Delhi Tamilnadu Express
Train No. 12840 Chennai Central - Howrah Mail
Train No. 12842 Chennai Central - Howrah Coromandel Express
Train No. 12656 Chennai Central - Ahmedabad Navajeevan Express
Train No. 22611 Chennai Central - New Jalpaiguri Express

The following trains have been diverted:-
Train No. 12507 Trivandrum-Guwahati Express is diverted to run via Melpakkam, Tiruttani, Renigunta and Gudur stations
Train No. 16351 Mumbai CST - Nagercoil Express is diverted to run via Tiruttani, Melpakkam, Katpadi and Villupuram stations
