Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on Monday expressed his full support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi over demonetisation and offered his full support in making India black money and corruption free.

Addressing the media here after a Cabinet meeting, KCR said that he suggested certain measures for the smooth implementation of demonetization particularly keeping in view the inconvenience being caused to the common man - farmers, small businesses and the poor.

At present, daily wage earners and producers of perishable articles and petty traders are adversely effected. They are required to line up in long queues to exchange money for conducting their daily business. Therefore the livelihood of workers working with them is also affected.

He called for the setting up of a 'special fund' by the Centre and States to take up works like house building, road repairs, road construction and development of other infrastructure facilities, where these labourers can be productively employed.

Asserting that most of the farmers and tenants do not operate their bank accounts and are habituated to do most of their dealings in cash, he suggested that farmers may be allowed to deposit an appropriate amount and nominal taxes only be imposed on such deposits.

Talking about increasing cash withdrawals in special cases, KCR added that private hospitals should also be authorized to accept old notes, adding that the deadline of accepting old notes for Government payments, petrol pumps etc may be extended beyond 24th November.
