Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj began her three-day visit of Vietnam today. Over the course of her trip, she shall be meeting with the Foreign Minister, Prime Minister and the President of Vietnam.
Travelling to Hanoi just after Vietnam has renewed India's lease of two oil blocks in South China Sea, Swaraj today attended a dinner hosted by the Indian Embassy, where she interacted with Indians living in Vietnam.
In her speech, Swaraj said that former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had had a vision of "Look East" and added that the present Government is working on the policy of "Act East". She also said that she would be meeting the Foreign Minister, Prime Minister and the President of Vietnam and will discuss many issues, including strengthening ties in defence, pharmaceutical and textiles.
