The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy on Monday said that he is happy that the Enforcement Directorate will be probing Karthi Chidambaram's involvement in the money laundering case now.

Swami dubbed Karthi and his father former finance minister P. Chidambaram as crooks and asserted that the duo should be persecuted.

"P Chidambaram violated all rules and regulations being Finance Minister of India at the time when Congress party was in rule. His son was the beneficiary so both of them should be questioned in this case", Swamy told ANI.

"Evidence claim from the examining his son's assets, that he has illegal bank account in foreign countries. P Chidambaram gave illegal approval to his son", he added.

Swamy further said that CBI has filed an FIR and a custodian investigation will commence in this matter.

Earlier, Congress Party supported its leader P. Chidambaram and alleged that Bharatiya Janata Party-led Central Government is taking out political grudges out of the matter instead of bringing justice to the case when Chidambaram said that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) should question him instead of harassing his son Karti in the Aircel-Maxis case.
