England off-spinner Graeme Swann may reportedly be back in the squad to boost their chances while facing Sri Lanka at The Oval on Thursday after recovering from a back strain.
According to the Daily Star, Swann is favourite to replace James Tredwell in the side if he comes through practice on Tuesday, although coach Ashley Giles and captain Alastair Cook have not completely ruled out fielding two spinners, particularly if Tim Bresnan has to leave early in case if his wife gives birth.
Meanwhile, Swann had said that it would be nonsense to say that beating Australia in their marathon battle at the ICC Champions Trophy at Edgbaston on Saturday will help them gain psychological advantage for the Ashes series, later this summer.
