Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on Wednesday tabled the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill or the Telangana Bill, in the Rajya Sabha amidst a din.
Earlier, the House was adjourned twice following protests by Semmandhra region MPs' over the proposed move by the government to table the Bill.
Marshalls were called in to the House to stop the MPs' from protesting.
Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman P.J. Kurien appealed to the MPs' to maintain order in the House and allow a discussion on the Bill to take place.
Meanwhile, the government has reached an understanding with the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) that the former will ensure a financial package for the Seemandhra region, while the latter will not go ahead with the amendments it has moved.
