Ten coaches of the Jhelum Express derailed near Ludhiana in Punjab today, leaving two passengers injured.
"The train is 11078 Jhelum Express. The incident took place in the Northern Division of the Railways. The train had a total of 24 coaches. Eight coaches of sleeper class, one coach of third AC and one pantry car. All are safe. Only two people have got minor injuries. Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu has given direction for proper treatment of the victims," Additional Director General (ADG) of Railways Anil Saxena told ANI.
The incident took place around 3.10 a.m. Near Phillaur town, 125 km from Chandigarh.
The injured are being treated in the Ludhiana Hospital.
