Railways Minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday said people who have a negative mindset with regard to the introduction of the bullet train in India are in a minority now, and added that related technology would be manufactured soon in the country.
"We have answered enough to those who have a negative mindset. But now is the time to build the confidence of the country. Negative thinkers are left in a minority now and have lost their identity," Goyal told the media, after addressing the India Economic Summit of the World Economic Forum (WEF) being held here.
He further said that the people of India have enough potential and he was confident that the country has the capacity to manufacture bullet train technology.
The minister also expressed confidence about the railways contributing to giving the economy a major boost.
Listing some of his immediate priorities, Goyal said, "The safety of passengers will be gaining the highest priority in the expenditure of the Indian Railways and there is no limit to the funds that are required and will be made available to be spent. Every single rupee will be made available in this regard."
Goyal further informed that he has declared foot over bridges, platforms and entry and exit points as items coming under the safety paradigm.
