Ten people were killed and around 33 sustained injuries in a road accident in Tamil Nadu's Krishnagiri district on Sunday.
The mishap took place when a private bus, with 60 people onboard, collided with a container lorry coming from the opposite lane on the highway connecting Hosur and Krishnagiri districts.
"The lorry heading towards Krishnagri collided with the bus when the lorry was coming out of a median opening of the highway,"Rohini Priyadarshini, Assistant Sub Inspector of police told the media.
The injured have been rushed to a nearby district hospital.
Meanwhile, P. Balakrishna Reddy, Minister for Animal husbandry, visited the hospital to assess the situation.
