Jared Leto, Tom Hardy and Will Smith are set to play supervillains in Warner Bros.' upcoming 'Suicide Squad.'
The superhero project, which would be helmed by David Ayer, and recently announced its cast, is about a team of supervillains, who are given a chance at redemption by the government, and have to complete a series of incredibly dangerous missions that none of them are expected to survive, CNet reported.
While Oscar winner Jared Leto has been confirmed to play Joker, Margot Robbie would play his sidekick Harley Quinn. The rest of the star-studded ensemble cast includes Smith as Deadshot, Hardy as Rick Flagg, Cara Delevigne as Enchantress and Jai Courtney as the token Australian, Boomerang.
The part of government agent Amanda Waller, who's the domineering mastermind behind the whole Suicide Squad operation, is still up for grabs, and Jesse Eisenberg is rumoured to reprise his role as Lex Luthor for the film, after playing the part in the upcoming 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice'.
The film, which is being produced by Charles Roven and Richard Suckle, will begin shooting in April 2015, and is anticipated to release in 2016, after the studio's upcoming 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice'.
