Torrential rain abandons US GP second practice session

The United States Grand Prix second practice session was cancelled due to heavy downpour and more disruption is forecasted to fall ahead of Sunday's race.

Earlier in the morning session, Mercedes' Nico Rosberg emerged as the fastest driver while teammate Lewis Hamilton finished fifth in Austin, the Guardian reported.

Reigning world champion Hamilton needs to beat nearest rival Sebastian Vettel by nine points and Rosberg by two to lift his third championship title.
