Turkish authorities have arrested 21 suspected members of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in a series of raids in capital Istanbul, the nearby town of Kocaeli and locations near the Syrian border.

According to the BBC, three of those arrested were foreigners who were planning to cross into Syria.

Turkey has been accused of not taking enough steps to stop the flow of foreign fighters across its Syrian border.

However, Turkish government has denied all accusations. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the country had deported 1,300 foreigners believed to have links to ISIS.
