Aam Aadmi Party leader Kumar Vishwas on Tuesday defended the ouster of Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan from the party's top decision making body, saying tweeting about the party's internal matters was not right.
"Why should I discuss the internal matters of my party with the media? There is a transparent system in the party to address problems. Tweeting about the matters or giving statements in media is not right," Vishwas told ANI.
Another AAP leader Gopal Rai said the party had to issue a statement, as there was a sense of confusion among the volunteers.
"It was unanimously decided to not make public the discussions held during the National Executive meeting. But it created a sense of confusion among the volunteers, hence, party had to issue a statement," said Rai.
Earlier in the day, the AAP issued a statement justifying the expulsion of Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan from the Political Affairs committee (PAC) of the party on March 4.
The statement said, "During Delhi elections, three senior AAP leaders were working towards our defeat- Yogendra Yadav, Shanti Bhushan and Prashant Bhushan. Prashant Bhushan used to call up AAP leaders of other states and tried to convince them to not campaign in Delhi."
The statement further said that Prashant Bhushan told AAP leaders: 'I won't campaign, you shouldn't either...Arvind needs to be taught a lesson.'
Yogendra Yadav, however, said that the MLAs in Delhi are being forced to sign a letter against him and Prashant Bhushan, while the latter said the whole truth about the matter would soon come out.
