Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday demanded 'strict action' against senior party leaders Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav, accusing the duo of conspiring against the party to bring the BJP to power in the national capital.

"During elections we came to know that phone calls were being made to volunteers asking them not to come to Delhi as we are going to lose in Delhi. Volunteers from abroad were asked to stop making donations. Prashant ji had told Ashish Khetan that he wants us to lose Delhi elections. They were conspiring to bring BJP government in Delhi. Strict action should be taken against them," Mann said.

Mann further said that Yadav and Bhushan were not committed towards campaigning during the run up to Delhi assembly elections.

"I did 121 public functions and Prashant ji and Yogendra Yadav ji put together did around 25-30 public functions. They did not campaign with interest. I feel very sad, it is not yet late, strict action should be taken against both," he said.

Earlier in the day, the AAP issued a statement justifying the expulsion of Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan from the Political Affairs committee (PAC) of the party on March 4.

The statement said, "During Delhi elections, three senior AAP leaders were working towards our defeat- Yogendra Yadav, Shanti Bhushan and Prashant Bhushan. Prashant Bhushan used to call up AAP leaders of other states and tried to convince them to not campaign in Delhi."

The statement further said that Prashant Bhushan told AAP leaders: 'I won't campaign, you shouldn't either...Arvind needs to be taught a lesson.'"

Later, Yogendra Yadav said that MLAs in Delhi are being forced to sign a letter against him and Prashant Bhushan, while the latter stated that the whole truth needs to come out.
