Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader Jay Panda on Monday said the war of words between Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushma Swaraj and Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh on social networking site Twitter should be seen in a lighter vein, and added that it is the public which will finally decide the prime ministerial candidate.

"I think these tweets between Digvijay Singhji and Sushma Swarajji are in my mind in a lighter vein. They are really fascicle because this is not how decisions should be taken about who should lead their parties," said Panda.

"I think the process about who should lead their party, who should be the prime ministerial candidate, this is finally something the public will decide and these parties also have to be more responsive to the public mood," he added.

A war of words broke out again between the Sushma Swaraj and Digvijay Singh yesterday on Twitter, which has of late become the new battlefield for rival politicians to take potshots at each other.

Digvijay Singh described BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi as a "megalomaniac psychopath liar" and suggested that Sushma Swaraj would be a "better leader" for the post.

Swaraj, however, quickly dismissed Singh's comments with a retort on twitter, "Even I think Digvijay Singhji is a better candidate than Rahul Gandhi.
