Following the ousting of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, the country's interim President Olexander Turchynov has warned against the risk of separatism.
Addressing parliament, Turchynov said that he would meet law enforcement agencies to discuss the risk of separatism in regions with large ethnic Russian populations, adding that Separatism was a serious threat.
According to the BBC, Turchynov made the remark in wake of continued opposition in Ukraine's Russian-speaking regions to the new administration in Kiev.
US Secretary of State John Kerry said Ukraine was not caught in a battle between East and West, adding that this is about the people of Ukraine and Ukrainians making a choice about their future.
Meanwhile, the formation of a unity government has been put on hold until Thursday.
