Heavy rainfall and a storm lashed parts of Delhi and the National Capital region (NCR) on Friday, providing its residents some respite from the summer heat.
Earlier, the Met department had said there could be a decline in temperatures from tomorrow until June 3.
M Duraisamy, Director, Met department told ANI that there is also a possibility of mild rains over the next two to three days.
The director attributed the current heat wave gripping the city to hot winds blowing from Rajasthan . The heat could later increase from June 4, he added.
Delhi experienced searing temperatures on Thursday. Temperatures surged to 43.7 degrees Celsius in the city, while in the Palam area, the temperature was recorded at 46 degrees.
The rest of north India, too, has been sizzling under a relentless summer.
