In 2013, the US Open of tennis will have more money at stake than ever before, with the purse up 28 percent since last year, to a total of 33.6 million dollars and ticket prices have gone up to an average of 336 dollars, which is the highest over the last four years.

According to Forbes.com, The Open has stated a purse target of 50 million dollars in 2017, while Wimbledon too announced that they would increase prices 40 percent to a total purse of 34.4 million dollars.

The report said that Labor Day tickets would be 88 percent more than before it, and even though prices during the first week will be cheaper in the evening, once work schedules kick in, night sessions would be more expensive.

Most people think that the best way to enjoy the Open is to get a grounds pass for the first week, which can mean a front-row seat for some great battles on the outer courts, the report added.

The cheapest ticket for this year's US Open is the first Tuesday afternoon, when it will cost 24 dollars to see the action, the report further said.
