Vyapam scam: MP CM Chouhan says its a 'ploy' against the state

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday alleged that the Vyapam scam is a ploy against the state as there are more flaws in other states' admission exams.

Speaking at 'Swadhinta Parv' event here, Chouhan said: "Few people have plotted to defame Madhya Pradesh. Madhya Pradesh that came out of BIMARU zone was denounced as murderers' state."

"There was no procedure for admission exams. We formed the procedure. We also made the procedure of Police admission transparent. Other states' admission exams have more flaws than Madhya Pradesh," he added.

Claiming that the system had been cleaned long ago, Chouhan stated that Madhya Pradesh has been defamed so much that residents are considered as frauds and the children of this state are doubted.

"This is a conspiracy and we will not let it succeed," he added.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday filed two fresh FIRs in the controversial Vyapam scam in Madhya Pradesh.

The first FIR has been registered against the five accused and the second FIR involves 13 accused in the scam.

The CBI on Thursday had registered six new FIRs in connection with Vyapam case.

The first case was registered against four accused for alleged irregularities in 2009 Pre-Medical Entrance Test, the CBI said in a release.

The CBI has already registered 67 FIRs and launched 12 preliminary inquiries into the Vyapam scam.

The Supreme Court on July 9 handed over the Vyapam cases to the central investigating agency. Over 40 people linked with the scam have died under mysterious circumstances or committed suicide.
