A dialogue between Easel and Chisel' a weeklong interdisciplinary art workshop had commenced on August 10 and has concluded on August 17, 2016.
The workshop brought together painters and sculptors to produce art in a form which has not been witnessed before.
The preview showcasing the work will be held this evening at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. Amit Ambalal, Amol Palekar, Anandajit Ray, Indrapramit Roy, Karl Antao, Lalitha Lajmi, Pankaj Panwar, Sojwal Samant, Tanmoy Samanta and Vyom are part of the workshop.
Neena Naishadh, an ardent art lover has conceptualized and curated the workshop. Neena is also the Director of Uniglobe Perfect Connections, a complete travel solutions company specialising in the corporate and niche leisure markets. Her travels have paved opportunities to explore art and culture across the globe and has hence reinforced her aspiration to place Ahmedabad on the global map.
Neena who is well known within the fraternity, has made modest and significant efforts to bring quality theatre, film and art programmes to Ahmedabad.
A few of her undertakings would include, Bikhare Bimb (Broken Images) a play written and directed by Girish Karnad and performed by Arundhati Nag in 2007; 'Abstracts in Oil' by Amol Palekar held in Ahmedabad and Baroda; A live portrait sketching session by Pandit Shri Shivkumar Sharma; In the Light(ness) of Being- a senior celebrity artists show with Lalitha Lajmi, Latika Katt and Rekha Rao; 'Piya Behrupia' by the director Atul Kumar in July 2016; etc.
On the eve of the exhibition to be held at IIM-A, Neena Naishadh said, "I strongly believe that art stimulates the intellect, enriches perspectives and gives immense gratification. At the same time, it is becoming an integral part of the new economy and a deciding factor in attracting young talent and businesses to a city. I want to nurture and protect the rich cultural diversity of Ahmedabad whilst exposing the city to top quality media productions and art exhibitions from India and around the world."
The exhibition will also be open from August 20 to 23, from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm and is free for all.
