West Indies leg-spinner Devandra Bishoo has insisted that his side are not under any pressure despite falling short against India, which posted a commanding 302 for four at stumps on day one of the opening Test in Antigua.
"No, I don't think we are under any pressure at all," Bishoo was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo. "The game could change just like that. It was a tough day for us, but you never know. Tomorrow morning we're going to come and put the work in."
Opting to bat first, India were troubled by a disciplined West Indies bowling unit early in the innings, leaving the tourists in a spot of bother at 74 for two in 27.4 overs at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium on Thursday.
Although West Indies bowlers kept the tourists at bay in the first session, they failed to maintain their lines and lengths as the day wore on.
However, Shikhar Dhawan (84) teamed up with Test skipper Virat Kohli (143 not out) as the duo engineered a 105-run stand for the third wicket to solidify the total.
The 30-year-old, however, admitted that bowlers could have been better with their lines and lengths on a good pitch to bat on.
"Yeah, we could have been in a better position probably." Bishoo said. "At the end of the day, it's a good pitch and the Indian batsmen kept relishing it. We just didn't put the ball in the areas as much, but we bowled good in patches.
