A wild elephant strayed into a residential area in Siliguri, West Bengal, on Wednesday damaging at least hundred houses.
"The elephant came from the nearby Baikanthapur forest and destroyed around 100-150 houses. The administration officials have not been able to take the elephant from here. We cannot move from here due to that elephant," said a local resident.
"We are very much disturbed with the elephant. Many people have got injured. The administration should look into the matter. People are very much scared," added another local.
The locals were helpless as the elephant continued to rampage the houses, compounds and sheds.
